Katrina has always loved animals, and is passionate about helping them. Over the past 15 years she has been able to volunteer for several organizations and programs located in CNY, where she lives.
She served on the board at Rescue Me, where she was a volunteer for close to five years. She was able to gain hands on experience with a very wide range of daily functions involved with dog rescue.
For fifteen years, she has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities, as a Direct Support Professional with the CNYDSO.
She has a B.S. in Community and Human Services, with a concentration in Mental Health Services, from S.U.NY. Empire State College and is pursuing her Master’s degree in social work.
While working towards her Bachelor’s degree, she became interested in Veterans issues, and programs that support both them and their families.
Katrina loved volunteering as a foster for Furbridge. She is excited to have the opportunity to combine both of her passions, helping animals and Veterans through Furbridge’s Healing Companions, Community Outreach Program.
